Privacy of Your Thoughts

Separately, I had a discussion with my friend and my cousin regarding weblogs. Since blogs are basically diaries, both expressed their hesitation of making a blog of their own.

My stint in government is now going into two weeks. In those two weeks, except for following up on clearances and related papers, I always stayed in my office. I don't go out much because Personnel has yet to give me any kind of ID. It is Malacañang after all. With the high alert status of Philippine Praetorian Guards, I haven't lost the paranoia that they will shoot anyone without an ID for just moving around the compound.

Bad Response to Hurricane Katrina

There is plenty of blame to go around regarding the disaster in New Orleans. However, most of the blame should go to FEMA , its former Chief Michael Brown, and eventually the White House.

September 11 and America's subsequent war on terrorism should have made the emergency response better and faster. A worst case scenario in a terrorist attack would involve nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons- a.k.a Weapons of Mass Destruction. America has trained for it. Homeland security is all about preventing and responding to a WMD strike.

Cinderella Man (2005)

Cinderella Man is about a burnout and injury-prone boxer who finally won (I'm not sure about the weight class) the championship belt after years of poverty and dissapointment.

Russel Crowe plays the lead character James Braddock. Braddock was a top boxer at the start of the movie, until injuries and later on the Great Depression removed him from the driver seat of life. From riches to rags, he worked at the docks barely making enough for food for a wife and three children.
